TIBCO Cloud™ Terminology

Before you start using TIBCO Cloud™, reading this topic would be beneficial to understand and use TIBCO Cloud easily. The terms explained here are with reference to TIBCO Cloud.

Account

When you sign up as a new user with TIBCO Cloud, an account is created for you. This is called the TIBCO Cloud account.

Organization

When you sign up as a new user with TIBCO Cloud, you are assigned an organization, and you become the organization owner. Thereafter, you can invite other people to become organization owners. All organization owners share a TIBCO Cloud account. An organization encompasses a group of users, a department in a company, or an entire company.

Domain

The term is used to indicate an area of work in which TIBCO Cloud provides services. For example, Integration, Analytics, Low Code Apps and Processing, and more.

Domain Capability

TIBCO Cloud offers numerous domain capabilities under different domains. TIBCO Cloud offers domain capabilities such as Spotfire in the Analytics domain, Control Center in the API domain, Case Manager in the Low Code Apps & Processes domain, and more.

Region

This is the geographical area of the capability, which you are subscribing to or want to subscribe to. TIBCO Cloud provides capabilities in the following geographical regions - United States (US East and US West), Europe (EU), and Australia (AU). Your physical presence is not required in a region to subscribe to a capability. You can subscribe to:

  • Any capability from any region

  • Any number of capabilities from a region

Subscription

When you purchase a domain capability in a region, it is termed as a subscription. For example, you might want to purchase Spotfire capability in the Analytics domain for the EU region.

Asset

Any entity that you create by using a subscription in your organization, such as an application or an API service, is an asset.

Cloud Usage Unit (CUU)

Cloud Usage Units (CUU) is the quantity of units that are purchased by a customer and specified under an Order Form that the customer will consume against while utilizing the TIBCO Cloud cloud capabilities. CUUs are used against TIBCO Cloud Passport Usage Metrics to track consumption of the capabilities.

Note: The term Cloud Usage Units is specific to Cloud Passport only.
